Cymbopogon winterianus in international trade is known as Citronella. In Indonesia Mahapegiri type (Java Citronella) which is known as high quality citronella oil comparing to other varieties.

Most important component of citronella is citronellal and geraniol. The components determines the intensity of the smell and the value of volatile oil prices.
